Dear Distinguished Guests and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, and the entire Organizing Committee, it is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to the 38th Annual Meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference (TSB2026) with Joint Session on Biorefinery and Fermentation Technologies for Agricultural Waste Valorization under BCG Economy. We are pleased to have the Fermentation Research Center for Value-Added Agricultural Products (FerVAAP), Khon Kaen University, as our co-host for this significant event.

Taking place on November 23-24, 2026, this year’s gathering brings together leading academic experts, researchers, innovators, industry professionals, and students from around the world under the theme “Biotechnology for Sustainable Prosperity: From Lab to Global Impact.” This theme reflects our commitment to translating advanced research into practical solutions that drive economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social well-being—from fundamental discoveries to real-world applications that benefit communities both locally and globally, in alignment with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy model.
This conference also marks a special milestone as we celebrate the 41st anniversary of the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, fostering innovation that addresses both local and global challenges.

The Joint Session is co-organized by FerVAAP in collaboration with the High-Potential Research Team Grant Program (NRCT and NSTDA) under the project “Technological advancements for biofuels and biochemicals production using biomass and waste materials derived from the sugarcane and sugar industry.”

We warmly invite you to join us for what promises to be an enriching and inspiring event. We also hope you will have the opportunity to experience the warm hospitality and rich culture of Khon Kaen and northeastern Thailand.

Message from the President of the Thai Society for Biotechnology

On behalf of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to The 38th Annual Meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference (TSB2026), to be held on November 23–24, 2026, at the Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Center. We are honored to host this distinguished gathering of researchers, academics, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and young innovators from Thailand and around the world.

TSB2026 is organized under the theme “Biotechnology for Sustainable Prosperity: From Lab to Global Impact,” highlighting the critical role of biotechnology in advancing sustainable economic growth, environmental policy, and societal well-being. This theme underscores the importance of translating scientific discoveries into practical applications that drive innovation across industries and regions.

The conference features a comprehensive scientific program encompassing Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, Bioenergy and Renewable Energy Systems, Agricultural Biotechnology and Food Systems, Environmental Biotechnology and Green Solutions, Gene Editing and Agricultural Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, Young Researchers and Innovation, Food Biotechnology and Security, Natural Products and Biomaterials, and Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology. Collectively, these sessions reflect the breadth and global impact of modern biotechnology in addressing today’s complex challenges.

We are proud to highlight strong regional collaboration through the participation of leading networks, including the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB), the Society for Biotechnology Japan (SBJ), the Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering Society of Taiwan (BEST), the AFOB Malaysian Chapter (AFOB-MC), and the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (KSBB). These partnerships strengthen scientific exchange across Asia and help bridge academia and industry.

In keeping with our tradition, TSB2026 will honor excellence through the Taguchi Prizes and the Ajinomoto-TSB Award. The Taguchi Prizes recognize outstanding young researchers and exceptional M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis contributions in biotechnology, while the Ajinomoto-TSB Award honors innovative achievements, with this year’s focus on food, agriculture, and environmental innovation.

Beyond scientific exchange, I warmly encourage all participants to engage actively, network, and explore opportunities for collaboration. I sincerely hope that TSB2026 will be an inspiring and rewarding experience for all.
